Senator Andy Kim, a U.S. Senator representing New Jersey and former representative of the state’s 3rd district since 2019, posted a series of statements on social media addressing recent national events and legislative efforts.
On March 12, 2026, Kim expressed solidarity with the community in Michigan following an attack: “New Jersey stands with West Bloomfield in the aftermath of this horrible and frightening attack, and we hope all families affected are safe and secure. This attack on Temple Israel in Michigan reverberates throughout our country and throughout my home state of New Jersey. I’ve” (March 12, 2026).
Later that day, Kim commented on economic inequality and legislative action: “It’s unacceptable that while so many struggle to afford everyday expenses, those at the top still aren’t paying their fair share. That’s why I helped introduce the Working Americans’ Tax Cut Act to deliver real relief to working families.” (March 12, 2026).
On March 13, Kim criticized government spending related to foreign policy: “Trump is spending $1 billion per day in taxpayer dollars on his war in Iran. Here’s what people in New Jersey said they’d rather see their money spent on.” (March 13, 2026).
Andy Kim was born in Boston in 1982 and currently resides in Moorestown. He holds degrees from Deep Springs College (2002) and the University of Chicago (2004). Kim succeeded Tom MacArthur as representative for New Jersey’s 3rd district beginning in 2019.
