Senator Andy Kim, a U.S. Senator representing New Jersey and former representative of the state’s 3rd district since 2019, recently posted several updates on social media regarding local weather concerns, international relations, and economic issues.

On August 18, 2025, Kim addressed residents about Hurricane Erin’s ongoing impact on the Jersey Shore. He wrote, “The Jersey Shore will continue to experience the impacts of Hurricane Erin over the coming days. Please be aware of rip currents and high waves, and follow local guidances to stay safe if you’re heading to the beach.”

The following day, Kim shared details from an official visit abroad. On August 19, he stated, “It was an honor to meet with President Lee in Seoul to discuss the importance of the U.S.-ROK alliance. South Korea is a critical partner to the United States. I spoke with President Lee about opportunities to deepen economic growth between our two nations and collaboration on”.

Later that same day, Kim commented on domestic economic challenges linked to federal policy changes. He questioned whether recent Republican policies had delivered their promised benefits: “Does this sound like those lowered costs Republicans promised? For too many New Jerseyans, Trump’s tariffs and cuts to food assistance have put safe, healthy eating at risk. That’s why I’m fighting to keep these soaring costs out of your grocery stores.”

Kim has been active in Congress since replacing Tom MacArthur in 2019 and currently resides in Moorestown. Born in Boston in 1982, he holds degrees from Deep Springs College (2002) and the University of Chicago (2004).
