Senator Andy Kim, who has represented New Jersey’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress since 2019, addressed several issues this week through a series of posts on his official Twitter account.
On May 16, 2026, Kim shared details about a recent meeting with local stakeholders: “This week, I met with the NJ Chapter of the Asian Real Estate Association of America (AREAA) to talk about the importance of building more housing that families can afford. We discussed the need to pass the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act in the House, and I heard from AREAA”. The post highlights ongoing discussions around affordable housing and legislative efforts such as the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act.
Later that day, Kim commented on generational challenges faced by many New Jersey residents: “I know from my personal experience and conversations in New Jersey: members of the Sandwich Generation are everywhere. Â
We need support. Conversations like this is where that starts.” The statement refers to individuals supporting both aging parents and children.
On May 17, Kim turned his attention to ethics in government: “Trump is literally profiting off the presidency. How much has your family made since he took office? We must ban stock trading across all 3 branches of government. That’s what my stock trading bill will do. The President should not be exempt from this standard.”
Kim, born in Boston in 1982 and currently residing in Moorestown, has a background that includes graduating from Deep Springs College in 2002 and earning a BA from the University of Chicago in 2004. He succeeded Tom MacArthur as representative for New Jersey’s 3rd district beginning in 2019.
