Senator Andy Kim, who represents New Jersey’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed issues related to national security, education, and immigration enforcement through a series of posts on social media.
On February 14, 2026, Senator Kim posted: “We need to get rid of the idea that our strength is just about the size of our military. We see it in NJ, and I’m telling everyone I can at @munsecconf: education is key to better security and more opportunities around the globe.” The statement was made during his participation at the Munich Security Conference, emphasizing the role of education in enhancing global security.
Later that day, he commented on immigration enforcement actions in South Jersey by stating: “Absolutely horrifying to see this in South Jersey. ICE has no business in our state, terrorizing our children and our communities.” This post reflected his opposition to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activities within New Jersey.
Continuing his stance on civil liberties, Kim added on February 15: “I will defend your right to record ICE interactions in NJ and across the country.”
Senator Kim has served as a U.S. Representative for New Jersey’s 3rd District since 2019 after succeeding Tom MacArthur. He was born in Boston in 1982 and currently resides in Moorestown. Kim holds degrees from Deep Springs College (2002) and the University of Chicago (2004).
