Senator Andy Kim, who represents New Jersey’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of tweets addressing economic concerns and student struggles in his state.
On April 4, 2026, Kim criticized the current economic climate under former President Trump by stating, “Yet another ‘who can afford this?’ moment. In Trump’s America, the average age of a homebuyer is 40, families can’t afford to fill their gas tanks, and grocery bills cause anxiety. A message to Trump: end the war and focus on the economy you’re tanking.”
Later that day, he shared experiences from students at a New Jersey community college: “Earlier this week I heard from students at an NJ community college. For many of them, working the night shift before class or having two jobs is routine. They are struggling to afford gas, groceries, childcare, and tuition. Life is too expensive for too many. We need to focus”.
On April 5, Kim extended holiday greetings with a simple message: “Happy Easter to all celebrating across the Garden State!”
Andy Kim has represented New Jersey’s 3rd District since defeating Tom MacArthur in 2019. Born in Boston in 1982 and currently residing in Moorestown, Kim holds degrees from Deep Springs College (2002) and the University of Chicago (2004).
