Senator Andy Kim, a member of the U.S. Congress representing New Jersey’s 3rd district since 2019, marked several significant occasions and commented on national policy issues in a series of posts on March 8, 2026.
In a post criticizing the Trump administration’s Department of Homeland Security, Kim questioned its direction following a new nominee: “Noem’s DHS made our country weaker. With their new nominee, does the Trump administration have any plans to fix what they’ve broken? I’m not holding my breath.” (March 8, 2026).
Later that day, he commemorated the anniversary of Bloody Sunday: “On the 61st anniversary of Bloody Sunday, we remember the hundreds of peaceful protestors who were beaten and brutalized as they marched for the freedom to vote. Their bravery and resilience continues to inspire us today and reminds us to never give up.” (March 8, 2026).
Kim also acknowledged International Women’s Day with a message focused on his home state: “Happy International Women’s Day! Proud to celebrate the women of NJ today and everyday.” (March 8, 2026).
Andy Kim has served in Congress since defeating Tom MacArthur in 2019. Born in Boston in 1982 and currently residing in Moorestown, Kim graduated from Deep Springs College in 2002 and received his BA from the University of Chicago in 2004.
