Senator Andy Kim, representing New Jersey’s 3rd district since 2019, has expressed concerns over various national and international issues through his recent social media posts. With a background in public service and education from the University of Chicago and Deep Springs College, Kim has been vocal about cybersecurity, international relations, and healthcare.
On June 5, 2025, Senator Kim questioned the current administration’s approach to cybersecurity. He stated: “The math isn’t adding up: if threats to our cybersecurity are increasing, why is the staffing and funding for programs to protect us, like CISA, going down? It’s clear the Trump administration isn’t actually concerned with our country’s cybersecurity and infrastructure”. This statement highlights his concern over reduced resources for critical security programs amidst rising threats.
Later that day, he shared insights from a meeting with an Indian parliamentary delegation. He wrote: “Today, I met with members of an Indian parliamentary delegation to discuss recent events in the region, including developments with Pakistan and with China. We exchanged views on opportunities for greater economic and technological cooperations.” He emphasized India’s importance as a U.S. ally in global affairs.
On June 6, 2025, Kim shifted focus to domestic issues by addressing healthcare priorities. He tweeted: “We cannot get distracted by this sideshow of two billionaires duking it out. Let’s focus on what really matters: protecting the healthcare for millions of Americans.” His message underscores the need to prioritize healthcare over less significant distractions.
Senator Andy Kim was born in Boston in 1982 and currently resides in Moorestown. His political career began after replacing Tom MacArthur in Congress.
