Senator Andy Kim, representing New Jersey’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress since 2019, has been vocal on several issues through his recent social media posts. Born in Boston in 1982 and currently residing in Moorestown, Kim is a graduate of the University of Chicago and Deep Springs College.
On July 2, 2025, Senator Kim shared a joint statement with Senator Booker regarding the nomination of Alina Habba for U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey. The post did not provide further details on their stance or any additional commentary on the nomination process.
Later that day, he expressed gratitude to @RUFedRelations for bringing attention to what he termed as “the dangers of the Republicans’ Big Disastrous Bill on student aid programs.” He encouraged readers to engage with the thread and make their voices heard concerning this legislative issue.
In another post from July 2, 2025, Kim highlighted personal stories to emphasize his concern over rising college costs. He stated that “Rabiyatu’s and Roseanny’s stories are unfortunately not unique,” criticizing House Republicans’ approach to education funding by asserting that it diminishes opportunities for students to contribute positively to their communities.
As an active member of Congress since replacing Tom MacArthur in 2019, Andy Kim continues to focus on educational issues among other policy areas.
