The facility was licensed for 220 beds in this period, exceeding the Burlington County average by 78 beds. Laurel Brook reported an average daily census of 193.1 residents.
CMS assigned an overall rating of 3 out of 5 to Laurel Brook Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, below the New Jersey nursing home average of 3.4.
Masonic Village at Burlington claimed the top spot for size in the county that quarter, with 264 beds. Complete Care at Burlington Woods, LLC was third with 215 beds.
As of the first quarter of 2026, Laurel Brook Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center had accrued two fines totaling $51,495 and received two penalties.
Burlington County, New Jersey, had 13 for-profit nursing homes in total.
Estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau show the country’s older adult population is growing while younger age groups decrease. Between 2020 and 2024, the population age 65 and older rose 13%, while those under 18 declined by 1.7%. Over the last century, the older adult segment has surged from 4.9 million in 1920 to more than 61 million in 2024.

“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance, an insurance education group. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
