Burlington County voters are preparing for the 2025 General Election, which features a gubernatorial race and is expected to draw significant participation. Early voting is already in progress across New Jersey, providing an alternative to voting on Election Day.

Nine early voting sites are open in Burlington County from October 25 through November 2. Voters from any of the county’s 40 municipalities can use any of these locations during the early voting period, as opposed to Election Day when they must go to their assigned polling place. The hours for early voting are 10 AM to 8 PM on weekdays and Saturdays, and 10 AM to 6 PM on Sundays. The final day for early voting is Sunday, November 2.

Registered voters also have the option to vote by mail. Applications for vote-by-mail ballots must be received by the Burlington County Clerk’s Office by October 28 if mailed; after this date, requests can only be made in person at designated county offices until November 3 at 3 PM. More information about vote-by-mail options and applications is available online at https://www.co.burlington.nj.us/996/Vote-by-Mail-Information.

On Election Day, voters should report to their assigned polling place listed on their sample ballot or searchable online at https://voter.svrs.nj.gov/polling-place-search. Polls will open at 6 AM and close at 8 PM; those in line at closing time will still be allowed to vote.

Voters are encouraged to bring their sample ballots with them for quicker check-in using barcodes printed on each ballot. If a voter experiences issues checking in or finds discrepancies with their registration, they should contact the Superintendent of Elections Office at 609-265-5111 and ensure they cast a provisional ballot if necessary.

All polling sites use electronic ballot marking devices and tabulators. Voters make selections on touchscreen machines that print paper ballots for verification before being inserted into tabulators. An instructional video explaining this process is available at https://www.co.burlington.nj.us/593/Election-Voter-Services.

Vote-by-mail ballots cannot be returned at polling places but may be submitted via one of Burlington County’s secure drop boxes (locations listed at https://www.co.burlington.nj.us/2102/Secure-Ballot-Drop-Boxes), hand-delivered to the Board of Elections Office in Moorestown, or mailed via the U.S. Postal Service. All completed mail ballots must be placed in a drop box or delivered by 8 PM on November 4; mailed ballots must be postmarked no later than that time.

Voters who requested a vote-by-mail ballot but choose instead to vote in person during early voting or on Election Day will need to complete a provisional ballot.

Accessible voting machines are available at every polling location for those with disabilities or accessibility needs. Assistance can be provided by family members, friends, or poll workers—though not by employers or union representatives—and accommodations can be requested onsite or by calling the Board of Elections at 609-265-5557.

Voters participating in-person will receive an “I Voted” sticker upon leaving their polling location; those submitting mail ballots will receive a postcard with an “I Voted by Mail” sticker.

Electioneering—including wearing campaign-related clothing or displaying signs—is prohibited within 100 feet of all polling locations.

Residents seeking further information about election procedures may call the Burlington County Elections hotline at 609-265-VOTE (8683).
