Starting at 12 p.m. Friday, March 13, former Seneca High School standout Josh Willitts took the mound for the NJIT Highlanders, who dropped their NCAA Division I contest 6-3 to the Niagara Purple Eagles.
The match was held at Yogi Berra Stadium, marking the teams’ first meeting of the season.
Willitts pitched five innings, allowing two earned runs with two walks and four strikeouts.
The Highlanders will return to Yogi Berra Stadium for their next game, set for Saturday, March 14, at 12 p.m. against the Niagara Purple Eagles.
