On Saturday, March 7, at 12 p.m., the Iona Gaels—featuring former Bordentown Regional High School star Allison Hoppe—secured a 5-4 win in their NCAA Division I softball contest against the Rider Broncs.

Donald E. Walsh Field at Rice Oval hosted the teams for their opening meeting of the season.

Hoppe pitched seven innings, allowing three earned runs while notching four walks and nine strikeouts.

The Gaels are slated to play the Rider Broncs again at Donald E. Walsh Field at Rice Oval on Saturday, March 7, at 2 p.m.
