Former Bordentown Regional High School standout Allison Hoppe and the Iona Gaels were defeated 7-2 by the Quinnipiac Bobcats in their NCAA Division I softball game held Sunday, March 15, at 12 p.m.
Donald E. Walsh Field at Rice Oval hosted the contest, marking the teams’ third meeting of the season. The Gaels had claimed a 10-2 win over Quinnipiac during their prior encounter on Saturday, March 14.
Hoppe pitched two innings, giving up four earned runs and walking two batters.
The Gaels’ upcoming contest will take place against Siena Saints at Siena Softball Field on Saturday, March 21, at 12 p.m.
