Burlington County will hold its fifth annual Bring Health Home Resource Fair at the Burlington County Library’s Main Branch in Westampton on April 17 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., according to an April 10 announcement. The event is organized by the Burlington County Commissioners along with several county departments and aims to provide residents with access to health screenings, fitness classes, presentations, and information from more than 40 agencies.

The fair focuses on nutrition, health, and housing security for local families. Organizers say it offers resources that can help address food insecurity and support stable housing for vulnerable residents. Free groceries will be distributed by the Department of Human Services’ new Food Hub, while the Aetna Mobile Food Pantry will also supply additional food.

“Good health starts at home so Burlington County continues to prioritize programs and resources that help all residents live healthy lives, including assistance related to sufficient, stable housing and food security,” said Burlington County Commissioner Director Dr. Felicia Hopson. “The Bring Health Home Resource Fair brings together a variety of health and housing resources in one location so residents can easily access information and receive in-person case management for a number of useful programs.”

State Senator Troy Singleton said, “Good health and secure housing aren’t luxuries reserved for the privileged. They are necessities and the foundation that strong, vital communities are built on. The Bring Health Home Resource Fair ensures residents can easily access important services and resources that can benefit them and their families.”

Commissioner Randy Brolo added: “It’s unacceptable for residents living among us to go hungry or be forced to choose between adequate, nutritious meals and other basic needs like health care and housing… The families coming to the Human Services Building for help are among our county’s most vulnerable, so it makes sense to make groceries available for them to take home while they wait for social services to begin.” Brolo also said: “Seeking information about health and housing can sometimes be intimidating… That’s why Burlington County created this resource fair to make it easy for residents to get screened and learn about proper nutrition, exercise and other healthy lifestyle choices, along with programs that can help them remain in secure, affordable housing.”

Other features include free Zumba classes throughout the afternoon; cancer detection sign-ups provided by Fox Chase Cancer Center; pediatric screenings offered by Virtua’s Pediatric Mobile Unit; presentations from New Jersey Housing agencies; civil rights information sessions; as well as appearances from Hope One outreach vehicles.

According to the official website, Burlington County encompasses 827 square miles as New Jersey’s largest county by area. It includes Historic Smithville Park—a large site with forests, meadows, streams, wetlands—and recognizes community contributions through its Outstanding Women of Burlington County awards program according to official sources. The library system hosting this event aims “to enrich lives by providing opportunities for learning” according to its stated purpose. Governance is handled by a five-member Board of Commissioners led administratively by Eve Cullinan according to official reports, overseeing a region divided into three cities, six boroughs and thirty-one townships.

Organizers expect this family-friendly event will connect more people with essential services needed within such a large county.
