The Burlington County Board of Elections is looking for residents to serve as poll workers for the New Jersey Primary Election on June 10. Prospective poll workers must be U.S. citizens and residents of Burlington County. Those 18 and older must also be registered voters and declare as either Republican or Democrat.

No previous experience is required, but participants must undergo mandatory in-person training and be present on the election day. Responsibilities include setting up and closing down voting equipment, assisting voters, and processing voter sign-ins. Poll workers will earn a minimum of $300 for their election day duties, with additional compensation for attending training sessions if they work on election day.

“Our democracy depends on free and fair elections, and this is an opportunity for both Democrats and Republicans to serve their communities and help their fellow citizens exercise their fundamental right,” stated Heather Cheesman, Chair of the Burlington County Board of Elections.

Apart from being registered voters in the county, applicants should be able to read and write clearly and be ready to work from approximately 5:15 AM to 8:30 PM on election day. Interested individuals can apply online or get more details by emailing the respective party email address or calling the provided phone number.
