The Burlington County Senior Expo is set to return for its 23rd year, offering a range of services and information to county seniors and residents. The event will take place on Wednesday, May 7, from 10 AM to 2 PM at the Masonic Village Fellowship Center in Burlington Township. It is organized by the Burlington County Sheriff’s Office, Burlington County Commissioners, and the Burlington County Department of Human Services Office on Aging.

Burlington County Commissioner Director Dr. Felicia Hopson emphasized the expo’s role in showcasing local services: “Residents of all ages make Burlington County their home because of the activities, programs and businesses we have here, and the Senior Expo is a great place to learn more about the services that are available from our County and our many community and state partners.”

Sheriff James Kostoplis highlighted the event’s informative nature: “The Expo brings together dozens of agencies and organizations whose representatives can answer questions on all kinds of topics… It’s always informative and we’re excited to host the event.”

Over 50 exhibitors will participate this year, including state and county agencies, social services, health providers, representatives from New Jersey Superior Court, Alzheimer’s Association, Brain Injury Alliance of NJ, and Friends of Parkinson’s Disease.

Attendees can tour Masonic Homes facilities, dispose of confidential documents securely with shredding services in the parking lot, receive free health screenings like blood pressure checks, and enjoy a complimentary lunch provided by the county for up to 500 senior citizens.

The Sheriff’s Office Community Outreach Unit will offer senior identification cards listing emergency contacts and other vital information. They will also provide veteran ID cards for those who qualify. Veterans should bring DD214 discharge papers along with primary photo identification.

Additionally, used cell phones will be collected for the office’s 911 Cell Phone Program. These phones are preprogrammed to call 911 for emergencies.

Sheriff Kostoplis remarked on safety initiatives: “Keeping Burlington County residents safe is our top priority… We hope as many residents as possible will come out.”

New Jersey Assemblywoman Andrea Katz praised the expo: “The Burlington County Senior Expo is a great place for residents to discover ways to stay healthy… I commend the Burlington County Sheriff and the County Commissioners for organizing this event.”
