Burlington County Commissioner Director Dr. Felicia Hopson and Commissioner Deputy Director Allison Eckel announced on May 12 that nominations are now open for the 2026 Outstanding Women of Burlington County Awards.
The awards recognize women who have made significant contributions in their chosen fields and supported other women in their communities. Nine categories will be honored this year: business, community service, diversity/inclusion, education, health care, law, leadership, military/veteran, and public safety. The public safety category includes first responders, federal agencies, dispatchers, EMS workers, fire personnel and law enforcement.
Applications will be accepted until the close of business on Friday, June 12. Winners will be honored at the annual Outstanding Women Awards Reception on October 6th. The awards are sponsored by the Women’s Advisory Council and the Burlington County Board of Commissioners.
“Burlington County has a rich history of women leaders, trailblazers and achievers, so we are excited to continue the tradition of recognizing some of our present day women leaders for their accomplishments and service,” said Commissioner Hopson.
Eckel said: “Women in our county continue to excel in every field and we are proud to celebrate them and their achievements. Now more than ever, we need to celebrate women and their accomplishments. By recognizing them, we hope to inspire more women to take on leadership roles or become more deeply engaged in our communities.”
