World War II veteran Albert Bernard Kaiser celebrated his 100th birthday with family, friends, and local officials on March 28. Burlington County Commissioner Tyler Burrell, Undersheriff Odise Carr, Evesham Mayor Jaclyn Veasy, Deputy Mayor Heather Cooper, and Councilwoman Dr. Krystal Hunter joined the event at Brightview Greentree-Senior Living Community.
The gathering recognized Kaiser’s military service and contributions to the community. Officials presented him with proclamations from both the county and township and honored him with a Burlington County Military Service Medal for his time in the U.S. Navy.
“We were so happy to be a part of Albert Kaiser’s 100th birthday celebration,” said Commissioner Burrell. “Mr. Kaiser and his fellow veterans are the reason we have a free country and why we can all live safely and securely. The Board of Commissioners thank and honor Mr. Kaiser for his service and for choosing Burlington County to be his home.”
Kaiser enlisted in the Navy in 1944, serving over two years as a radioman and gunner aboard torpedo bombers during World War II’s Pacific theater before rising to Seaman First Class rank. After leaving military service, he worked at RCA on projects such as equipment for the Apollo II Moon Landing Mission while also attending night school at Rutgers University-Camden.
Mayor Veasy said: “Mr. Kaiser has lived a remarkable life of service and achievements, and it was a privilege for us to be included in his family’s celebration of his milestone 100th birthday. We wish him continued health and happiness, and we thank him for making Evesham his adopted home.”
