Work is set to commence this week on the resurfacing of a section of Springside-Rancocas Road, which traverses Westampton, Willingboro, and Burlington Township. The project involves pavement milling and overlay work on County Route 635 and is scheduled to start on Thursday, July 10. Approximately 1.8 miles will be repaved between Route 630 in Westampton and Route 634 in Burlington Township.
The completion of the work is anticipated within two weeks. During this period, northbound traffic on Springside-Rancocas Road will remain open, while southbound traffic will be redirected via Sunset Road, Route 541, and Route 630. Motorists are likely to encounter delays and are advised to consider alternative routes.
Arawak Paving Company Inc., based in Hammonton, has been contracted for the task as part of Burlington County’s annual road resurfacing initiative. This year’s program aims to resurface a total of 33.4 miles across 16 municipalities within Burlington County.
“Burlington County is the largest county in New Jersey and has over 500 miles of County roads, 411 County bridges and 700 plus culverts. Maintaining this infrastructure is one of the important services our government performs,” stated Burlington County Commissioner Tom Pullion, who serves as the liaison to the Department of Public Works. “Our repaving program ensures Burlington County has safe, quality roads, and we are pleased to see that work is continuing.”
