Senator Andy Kim, who represents New Jersey’s 3rd District in the U.S. Congress, highlighted a series of critical social issues via his social media platform. Kim, who replaced former U.S. Congress member Tom MacArthur in 2019, has been an active voice on issues ranging from housing to healthcare. As a graduate of the University of Chicago and Deep Springs College, Kim has continuously focused on promoting equitable solutions to these issues.

In a post dated April 16, 2025, Kim emphasized the importance of the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) in maintaining a fair and affordable housing market. He said, “The Federal Housing Finance Agency plays a big role in ensuring a fair, affordable housing market. If it’s not doing its job right, American families will suffer. I’m working with @SenWarren and 8 other Dems to make sure the FHFA is in order after the Trump admin’s interference.” This statement underscores his commitment to collaborating with fellow Democratic lawmakers, including Senator Elizabeth Warren, to address perceived deficiencies within the FHFA.

Later on April 16, 2025, Kim addressed disparities in maternal health outcomes in New Jersey, particularly among Black women. He remarked, “Black women in NJ are nearly seven times more likely to die from pregnancy related complications. We must do better. Proud to work alongside leaders like Sen. Alsobrooks to fight for equitable healthcare in NJ and across the nation.” This post illustrates Kim’s advocacy for comprehensive healthcare reform and his partnership with prominent state leaders to tackle health inequities.

On April 17, 2025, Kim expressed concern over potential cuts to Medicaid, stressing its essential role for disabled Americans. He said, “Medicaid is the largest health insurance provider for disabled Americans. For some, it helps maintain dignity and autonomy, and for others it is the difference between life and death. We must all work together to stop any cuts to medicaid that this corrupt administration.” His message calls for unity against proposed measures that might undermine Medicaid’s effectiveness.

Senator Andy Kim, born in Boston in 1982 and currently residing in Moorestown, remains actively engaged in legislative efforts and dialogue to enhance the lives of New Jersey residents and the broader American public.
