Senator Andy Kim, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing New Jersey’s 3rd district, recently shared his thoughts on various topics through a series of tweets. These tweets reflect on significant events and issues concerning both local and national interests.
On June 19, 2025, Senator Kim expressed his sentiments regarding Juneteenth. He stated: “Happy Juneteenth! We mark this day to celebrate the emancipation of enslaved people in the United States. In New Jersey and around the country, I hope you’ll join me in commemorating this day of freedom, and celebrating the invaluable contributions Black Americans have made.”
Later that day, Senator Kim addressed financial concerns related to presidential pardons. He tweeted: “The price tag for Trump’s pardons is $1.3 billion and the American people are footing the bill. We deserve leaders who are accountable to the people they serve, not loyalists, or their wealthy friends.” This statement highlights his stance on political accountability.
On June 20, 2025, Senator Kim shared his experience meeting with students from Egg Harbor Township High School’s AP Government class. He remarked: “This week, I had the pleasure of meeting with AP Government students from Egg Harbor Township High School. It was great to meet with young leaders from New Jersey who are interested in government and public service. Thank you to all the students for asking thoughtful questions.” This interaction underscores his engagement with future generations interested in governance.
Senator Andy Kim has been an active member of Congress since replacing Tom MacArthur in 2019. Born in Boston in 1982 and residing in Moorestown, he is a graduate of both Deep Springs College and the University of Chicago.
