Senator Andy Kim, a U.S. Congressman representing New Jersey’s 3rd district since 2019, recently shared his thoughts on social media regarding various topics including religious celebrations, international politics, and community events. Born in Boston in 1982 and residing in Moorestown, Kim has been an active voice in Congress following his education at the University of Chicago and Deep Springs College.
On June 6, Senator Kim extended greetings for Eid al-Adha with a message of peace and joy to those celebrating the holiday. He expressed his wishes saying “Eid Mubarak to all who celebrate in New Jersey and beyond! Wishing you peace, joy, and many blessings this Eid al-Adha.”
Two days later, on June 8, Senator Kim commented on former President Donald Trump’s stance on Ukraine. He criticized Trump by stating that he “doesn’t understand or care about what’s at stake in Ukraine.” Kim emphasized the importance of opposing dictatorships for future generations as he remarked “It’s not just about protecting a people against a dictator, it’s about making sure the world we’re leaving to our kids knows that it’s important to stand up to dictators and protect our freedoms.”
On June 9, Senator Kim attended Trenton Pride where he celebrated Pride Month with the local LGBTQIAA+ community. He expressed gratitude for being part of the event by tweeting “A wonderful start to Pride Month. Thank you, Trenton Pride, for having me! It’s an honor to celebrate the diversity of the LGBTQIAA+ community in the great state of New Jersey.”
