Senator Andy Kim, representing New Jersey’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress since 2019, recently shared his views on several critical issues via social media. Kim, who was born in Boston in 1982 and resides in Moorestown, has been active in legislative efforts concerning public health and federal governance.
On June 9, 2025, Senator Kim announced his collaboration with Senators Schumer and Collins to reintroduce the SEPSIS Act. In a tweet, he emphasized the importance of this bipartisan effort aimed at reducing preventable sepsis deaths through enhanced early recognition, diagnosis, and treatment.
Later that day, Kim criticized the Trump administration’s handling of federal workers. He expressed his concerns about what he perceives as a lack of respect for these employees and the resulting challenges. According to a tweet from June 9, 2025, he stated that “we deserve better than this reckless abandonment of public services that every community across America benefits from.”
In another post on June 9, 2025, Senator Kim addressed the deployment of Marines on U.S. soil against local leaders’ wishes. He described this action as a “dangerous abuse of power,” asserting that the military should not be used by President Trump and Secretary Hegseth to instill fear among Americans.
Andy Kim graduated from the University of Chicago in 2004 after attending Deep Springs College in 2002.
