Senator Andy Kim, a representative of New Jersey’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, shared his thoughts on recent political developments through a series of tweets. Known for his focus on diversity and healthcare issues, Kim’s remarks reflect his ongoing concerns about policies impacting vulnerable communities.
On July 9, 2025, Kim expressed criticism towards the administration’s actions regarding diversity and social investments. He stated: “It’s clear that DOGE’s “greatest hits” are targeting some of our most vulnerable communities.” Kim highlighted the cruelty he perceives in these actions, particularly as they affect efforts to address maternal mortality disparities and environmental challenges.
Later that day, Kim discussed legislative matters following a return to Capitol Hill. At 12:00 p.m., he commented on recent legislative developments: “We’re back in the Capitol after a long weekend and the heartbreaking passage of Trump’s Big Disastrous Bill.” He urged followers to stay engaged with upcoming legislative battles.
At 4:02 p.m., Kim addressed potential repercussions from proposed cuts to Medicaid under Trump’s administration. He warned that these changes could harm New Jersey residents: “Trump and Republican cuts to Medicaid, known as NJ Family Cares in New Jersey, will negatively impact communicates across the entire state.” Kim emphasized that while it may take time for these impacts to manifest fully, healthcare providers are already preparing for them.
Kim has been serving in Congress since replacing Tom MacArthur in 2019. Born in Boston in 1982, he currently resides in Moorestown and is an alumnus of both Deep Springs College and the University of Chicago.
