Former Bordentown Regional High School standout Allison Hoppe and the Iona Gaels secured an 8-5 victory over the Rider Broncs in an NCAA Division I softball game held Sunday, March 8, at 12 p.m.
Donald E. Walsh Field at Rice Oval hosted the teams in their third meeting this season. In the previous contest on Saturday, March 7, the Gaels fell to the Broncs 5-1.
Hoppe pitched seven innings, surrendering three earned runs while tallying five walks and five strikeouts.
The Gaels’ upcoming contest is set for Wednesday, March 11, at 2 p.m. at Donald E. Walsh Field at Rice Oval against the Stony Brook Seawolves.
